Friends of Old Falls Village is entering an important new chapter. As discussions continue regarding the possible future of Old Falls Village Park, we want our supporters, volunteers, visitors, and community partners to know that our organization is continuing, our mission remains unchanged, and our remaining 2026 events will be held as planned.
Friends of Old Falls Village Looks Toward the Future
Friends of Old Falls Village acknowledges the recent announcement that the Menomonee Falls Historical Society is in discussions regarding the possible purchase of Old Falls Village Park. We understand that this development brings questions, and we want to assure our supporters, volunteers, visitors, and community partners that Friends of Old Falls Village is continuing and actively preparing for the future.
For the past several years, our volunteers have built one of southeastern Wisconsin’s premier living history organizations through educational programs, historical reenactments, family events, veterans programs, music, and community partnerships. Our mission to preserve, share, and bring history to life remains unchanged, and our commitment to serving the Menomonee Falls community and southeastern Wisconsin is as strong as ever.
We also want to reassure the public that our three remaining 2026 events will be held as planned at Old Falls Village. That includes our upcoming 1960s Era Vietnam Living History Reenactment, which remains on the schedule and will continue to offer meaningful opportunities for education, remembrance, and community engagement.
Looking ahead, our Board of Directors has already begun evaluating several promising sites for a future location where our events and mission can continue in 2027 and beyond. While a final location has not yet been selected, we are encouraged by the opportunities ahead and remain focused on building a strong and sustainable future for the organization.
As part of this next chapter, we also anticipate introducing a new name and brand that better reflect our future direction and long-term mission. Additional updates will be shared in the coming weeks regarding our future location, new identity, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways supporters can remain involved.
Most importantly, Friends of Old Falls Village is not going away. We are moving forward with strength, clarity, and purpose. Our work will continue. Our mission will continue. And our unwavering dedication to preserving living history, educating the public, and serving our community will continue with even greater determination than before. We are still here, still committed, and still driven to keep history alive.
